Feb. 2 - Feb. 15 Deb Chaney Pure Abstraction

Pure Abstraction is a collection of large contemporary abstract paintings on canvas rich in texture with many layers of mixed media, acrylics, liquid metals, iridescent powders, sand, and collage elements. Each painting is inspired by nature and, using Feng Shui principles, created to contribute balance and vitality into its living space. My process involves ‘listening’ to the piece in progress and adding layer upon layer and removing parts of each layer. I add and take away paint with large sky flow brushes, palette knives, sea sponges, sturdy workshop rags, and even my sleeves. I relish the process of creating and am profoundly honored when others choose to collect my work.
